I have to be honest--Active Recovery Day is one of my favorite days of the week. An Active Recovery Day is a fun, low intensity workout (usually outdoors) that gives your mind and body a chance to recover from those intense training sessions you have been having throughout the week.
Not only do Active Recovery Days give you a chance to be outside doing an activity you enjoy, it's a chance for your body to recharge and your emotions to reset. When it comes to seeing results, Active Recovery Days are just as important as super-focused training days are.
Some examples of fun-in-the-sun activities you can do on Active Recovery Days:
- Stand-up paddle boarding
- Pilates
- Yoga
- Hiking
- Cruising on a bike
- Surfing
